January 29, 2013 How to not give up on your goals, yourself or others
#1 describe a test you just had/ are having in life that normally would make you upset for example: you are running late to an important meeting and someone points out critically that you really should have been there earlier
#2 describe how you would feel normally (what does YOUR upset feel like) and what words you would hear in your head for example: I would feel like a failure and hear something like: "I just can't get it together and therefore my life will never work out!"
#3 describe how trying to integrate the message from the clarity seminar (aka putting G-d in the center) has made a difference in your response/experience for example: I would tell myself :"this is happening for my training and development. I'm meant to learn and grow from all this. Maybe G-d sent me this person to let me know I can have a breakthrough in time management. I can do better. All I have to do is try harder again and again. The outcome of this meeting is in G-d's hands, no one else's. If G-d sees my sincere efforts, He can make it work out even though I was late." The effect of these ideas is that I would calm down and stop beating. myself up. And as a result, the upset wouldn't spill over onto the rest of my day/ interactions.

July 24, 2012 What to have in mind on the 9th of Av
My right eye hurts terribly when I drink tea” 83 year old Miriam complained to
her doctor. A thorough examination showed no problems. Puzzled, he asked to see
how she drinks her tea. Miriam prepared it carefully and just as she was ready
to sip, the doctor called excitedly “ I got it!” “May I suggest you take out the
spoon before it hits your right eye?” unintentionally, we, individually and as a
nation have made choices that have brought about painful consequences. G-d has
given us this time period to become aware of these choices and the price we have
paid. To the degree I better understand which choices are costing me and our
people heavily, I can better utilize the next period in the calendar, the 45
days of tikun/ healing, new beginnings and transformation.

At 47, he was 297 lb, barely able to walk, wearing back and leg braces and moving
around only with crutches. He has given up on himself. But then something
happened. Someone came along and helped him believe that change is possible
against all odds. what followed was persistent effort over time and amazing
breakthroughs! He lost 140 lbs in 10 months and was able to walk and run

With 13 weeks left till Rosh Hashanah we can say- “This is not how
this year is going to end!” No matter what the obstacles, when you persistently

him? Of course not. A car is a very dangerous machine both for the one handling
it and for all those around. But once you have the understanding and the

how clean! I wonder what happened” She mentioned to her roommate. “I cleaned our
windows this morning” her roommate replied…So much of our experience of life is
